Lucy's new Bertie Latimer ankle boots were her new favorite thing. She loved the way they sounded, the way she looked, how her legs looked in them. She especially liked the way she looked walking in them, towards Barney's to meet with Katie.
"Goodmorning miss. Can I help you find anything?" Asked the woman at the perfume counter she walked past.
"No thanks, just meeting someone at Fred's." She said as she walked towards the elevators. As the doors opened she walked towards the counter. She saw Katie eating a chocolate passion fruit tart with 2 coffees next to her. Lucy walked over and grabbed one of the coffees to take a sip.
"Enjoying yourself?" She asked smiling.
"Duh. Let's go." Said Katie licking her fork and standing up. She grabbed her coffee and dropped a 20 on the table.
"Sh_t service today. Seriously, the first coffees they brought were cold." She spat as the stood in the elevator. "Anyways, how's life?"
"Good. So tired from last night." Lucy smiled. She had gone to a crazy party for New Year's Eve and was exhausted.
"Same! Lucas and I had so much fun. Minus the incident." She said.
The incident was how she, Luke, Angela, and her boyfriend were caught by the police being out after curfew and on top of a building. They only got a warning but it wasn't very good seeming.
"I was pissed. Lucas' parents were out of the penthouse and we were all alone, and then Angela showed up." Katie said angrily, holding up a dress.
"Oh? Alone. How was your New York day?" Lucy asked.
"Good. We went to get hot coco and ice skated and lots of fun stuff. Then we went back to his house and were alone for 4 f_ckin hours until they showed up." Katie smiled walking over to the lingerie.
"Were you being literal?" Lucy asked following her and taking a sip of her coffee.
"Nooo. Not yet. Although... he said he loved me." Katie smiled.
Lucy almost choked on her coffee. After a month? They said I love you? She and James had been going out for 7 months and he hadn't even hinted at it. Katie and Lucas had been going out for what, 5 or 6 weeks?
"Oh? When?" Lucy asked, attempt to seem calm.
"He mumbled it, but then ended up saying it so I said it and it was cute." She smiled.
"Awww cute." Lucy said with disappointment in her voice.
"Okay, I'm gonna ask Lucas what he likes best. Leopard or lace." Katie smiled whipping out her phone.
Lucy felt like she was in such an immature relationship. Katie had gone to third base and said I love you. And Lucy? Not even close. Were they ever going to get anywhere?
After a few minutes of looking at bras, Lucy found Katie searching through a bin of sale panties. She had 4 already in her hands.
"He likes lace." Katie smiled as she held her phone, panties, and coffee all in one hand and looked through the bin in the other.
"Let's look at dresses." Lucy said.
"Yeah!!" Katie smiled and they walked downstairs towards the dresses. "I need a dress for the Tribeca benefit. Don't you?" Katie asked.
"Yep." She said grabbing an Alice + Olivia purple dress.
"Oh my gosh, I love this one!!" Said Katie.
"Oh, I love this one!" Smiled Lucy. "Let's try them on!" She said as they walked to the dressing room.
"Okay, I love this!" Said Katie, walking out in a lace sleeved dress. It was short and blue with lace sleeves and top with a plain blue body.
"I'm getting this." Said Lucy.
"Same!" Cried Katie.
"Okay, tell me what Luke thinks of the dress, and how your date goes and...after." Lucy said to Katie with a wink as she hailed a taxi.
"Will do! Have fun tonight, too!" Katie smiled and Lucy got into her cab and headed back to her penthouse and to get ready for her hopefully eventful night with James.
